And now a word for our sponsors (and parents)…

“The junior high kids are braver than the senior high here!” – Katie Vereen (who not only read today’s Bible verses in front of the WHOLE group of about 65, but also is the “Devotion Leader” for her mission crew everyday)

“We are the ONLY junior high kids here.” – Sally Pistole (who is the “Quartermaster” of her group and sleeps soundly through the night without interruption, except maybe to talk in her sleep with the other girls)

“I do NOT want to grow up and be a lunch lady.” – Adam Woodard (who has been serving at Salvation Army all week and also leading the devotions for his senior high group)

“Why are the senior high kids not as participatory as we are during devotions?” – Jenni Hall (who is also leading devotions with her crew as they serve at John Knox in St. Pete and learning that being a going-into-7th-grader who is teaching senior high kids is somewhat difficult – not because she’s intimidated but because they are not very eager to do devotions)

“I want to close in prayer! I haven’t gotten to pray out loud during devotions once yet this week.” – Austin Oliver (who is working at John Knox also and has had the chance to see how badly some of the people in our city really need not just our help, but our hope)

“We are the shortest, weirdest, craziest, youngest, awesomest, most participatory youth group here.” – All

“It’s true.” – Erica
