This IS very sad! I am a “former” member of TTUMC…my Mother still attends there and so I read the blogroll every once in a while. While we aren’t in Tampa still, I am well-aware of this whole story…as it started when my husband was pastoring in South Tampa. I kept thinking, “To whom much is given, much is required.” And, yes, it made me very very sad!!
Thanks for introducing yourself! I’ve heard other stories and comments before now, but this is the first time I’ve read several newspaper stories about the situation. I don’t know why it makes me so sad – that these people have so much influence and are using it so badly or that this only adds to how the world already views people who claim to be “in Christ.” I guess it’s probably both.

Most churches know that they have problems-the churches (not so kindly) have talked about it for years…it is sad.
